GLASS SWORD (RED QUEEN #2) by VICTORIA AVEYARD

"I flinch. The rag she gives me is clean, but it still smells like blood."

Summary:

(SPOILERS if you haven't read the first book in the series)

Pursued by Maven, now a vindictive king, Mare sets out to find and recruit other Red-and-Silver fighters to join in the struggle against her oppressors.

But Mare finds herself on a deadly path, at risk of becoming exactly the kind of monster she is trying to defeat.

Will she shatter under the weight of the lives that are the cost of rebellion? Or have treachery and betrayal hardened her forever?

First Impressions:

I really loved Red Queen, the first book in the series, so I started this one right away, but... I don't know... I guess I don't feel like reading, it has been one of those weeks. Reading slumps are bitches.

Anyway, the first line in this book is quite cute, isn't it?

Being a sequel I already know what to expect, but if this was the beginning of a book I knew nothing about I would probably be intrigued.

I mean, if you're not going to start your book talking about the smell of blood, just don't even bother writing it.
